Sudbury Camp (SC JV)

  • The Sudbury Camp properties consist of 9 projects in Sudbury that are being explored for copper and PGMs in the Sudbury Camp Joint Venture (“SC JV”) with Lonmin Canada Inc.

The SC JV properties include a number of Cu-Ni-PGM occurrences discovered by Wallbridge as well as prospective geology and geophysical anomalies adjacent to active mining areas in Sudbury. Wallbridge’s main exploration activities on the SCJV have focused on the following:

    • High-grade Trill Ni-Cu-PGM showing discovered in 2005 by Wallbridge on the Trill property. Significant intersections included 6.41 g/t Pt+Pd+Au, 0.79 % Cu and 1.20% Ni over 10.3 m (Hole WTR-012) and 8.11 g/t Pt+Pd+Au, 1.01% Cu and 0.81% Ni over 8.76 m (Hole WTR-028). The massive sulphide lens is approximately 65 metres long, 5 metres wide, dips steeply to the north and is known to extend to ~35 metres depth. Mineralization consists of pyrrhotite, chalcopyrite, pentlandite, pyrite and magnetite within an inclusion quartz diorite which is flanked by a non-inclusion phase of quartz diorite.
    • A Ni-Cu-PGM showing was discovered in 2013 in an outcrop of the Trill Offset dyke located on the eastern portion of the Trill property. Grab and short channel samples from this showing contained up to 8.93 g/t Pt+Pd +Au, 1.9% Cu and 2.45% Ni. Three holes drilled under the showing did not intersect significant mineralization.
    • Exploring favourable Sudbury breccia structures on the Skynner Lake property between Vale's Victor-Capre project and KGHM International's Podolsky mine on the East Range.
    • Wallbridge drilling on the Windy Lake property has delineated an embayment structure which hosts contact-style pyrrhotite-pentlandite-chalcopyrite mineralization within sublayer and footwall breccia. It consists of an east-west trending keel of Sublayer and Footwall Breccia up to 250-metre thick and over 2 kilometres long, found along the base of the Sudbury Igneous Complex (SIC). Many of the drill holes on the property were stopped a short distance into the footwall so much of the footwall geology has not been tested. Despite this, minor footwall Cu-PGM sulphide hosted in the footwall rocks has also been intersected in Wallbridge’s drill holes.
